Biography
Dr. Cara Quant is an Internal Medicine doctor and sexpert who is passionate about female sexual health. Her passion came about after she realized it was not thoroughly taught in medical training but believe women need providers who are comfortable in discussing and knowledgeable with treating female sexual dysfunction (lack of desire, lack of arousal, pain with intercourse, and problems with orgasm). She is the founder of Viva La Vulva movement and art exhibition and is bringing together like-minded people from different backgrounds who have a passion for driving change in the way female sexual health is perceived in our society and to help promote more awareness about the topic.
Cara Quant was born in Inglewood, CA. It was during her anatomy class in high school that she discovered her calling to become a doctor. From there, she attended the University of California, Santa Barbara where she received her bachelor’s degree, and with dedication and determination, got into UCLA/Charles Drew Medical School. She later completed Internal Medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and practices in LA.
Dr. Quant has had many great mentors throughout her journey into medicine. There was a time during the application process for medical school where she doubted herself and thought it would be impossible to get in, but with encouragement and reassurance from her mentors, she made it through. This and many other situations have encouraged her to remain steadfast in her commitment to mentoring and uplifting the youth. She understands very well the benefits of a mentor relationship because it provides that extra push in following through and not giving up on your dreams.
