Dr. Asha Isable
Biography
I am an experienced internist with nearly 20 years of experience treating chronic conditions, currently using lifestyle medicine and complementary interventions to reverse, delay or manage chronic illness. I opened a solo wellness practice that developed from a passion to see adults with an improved health and quality of life with less dependency on medications, risky procedures and less disability in the future.
I received my medical training in my native New York. I did a combination pre-med and medical school program at City College of New York in Harlem, NY. I completed medical school at Upstate Medical University Syracuse, NY. In addition to practicing in primary care, I have held clinical leadership/ medical director positions at a geriatric program and post-acute care. I relocated to Maryland to attend a research institute at The National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities and complete my Master of Public Health at Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. I am board certified in Internal Medicine and certified in Integrative Holistic Medicine.
In practice, I counsel clients on nutrition, physical activity, emotional health, and health education to prevent disease, reduce complications, lower health care cost and improve function. Lifestyle approach to hypertension and anti-inflammatory health are my strongest interests.
