The Directory of Black Women Physicians

I was born in Jamaica and raised in Canada. I am currently born certified in general and pediatric surgery. When I began my journey in medical training a black female pediatric surgeon was just a dream, as none had been trained; fortunately I found mentors who believed in me and my dream. I am no passionate about children and paving the way for other women of color to become pediatric surgeons. The reality is that we are not in a post-racial society and you need a physical manifestation of your dreams to help them become reality.
