The Directory of Black Women Physicians

Carolyn Hagel is an accomplished women’s health nurse practitioner with an extensive background in obstetrics and gynecology. She is board certified in women’s health and has been a women’s health nurse practitioner since 2005. She started her career in family planning, and spent eight years working with young adults and teens in pregnancy prevention. Carolyn also spent nearly ten years in a private OB/GYN office setting where she cared for women from teenage to postmenopausal age and delivered high and low-risk care to patients. In that setting, she performed procedures such as colposcopies, endometrial, and vulvar biopsies. She has a passion for women’s healthcare and a need to give back to the profession. She has served as a preceptor for multiple colleges including Rutgers and Drexel, and has served as a professor in women’s health at Rowan College of South Jersey.
